CINCINNATI -- University of Cincinnati junior women's soccer player Chelsea Kindschuh (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) has been selected as the 2008 recipient of the Carl H. Lindner, Jr. Scholarship for Outstanding Junior in the undergraduate program in the College of Business. The scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate junior who best typifies the energy, commitment, and creativity of Carl H. Lindner through his or her work in the classroom, and commitment and contribution to the university.

Kindschuh, a graduate of Lakota East High School, has maintained a 3.82 GPA and has been named to the Dean's List every quarter. A double major in marketing and finance, she serves as vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and vice president of the Committee to Promote Athlete Welfare and Success.

Kindschuh has completed an internship with Convergys' Industry Solutions division and also has spent time working as a student assistant in the College of Business Dean's office. She has volunteered with Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and TOPS Soccer. Most recently, she has contributed her time to an organ donation program working to register 19,000 organ and tissue donors in Hamilton County by May.

On the field, Kindschuh started 26 matches in her first two seasons, scoring a goal and adding two assists, before missing most of the 2007 season due to injury.

Kindschuh will attend the annual College of Business Alumni Reception and Banquet on March 3, 2007 at the Tangeman University Center's Great Hall to accept the award.
