Round Two Results in PDF Format
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.- The University of Cincinnati women's golf team shot a total score of 299 on second day of the Cuthbert Cup to move into ninth place for the event. The total was the sixth-best team total for the day, and improved their previous day total by 13 strokes.
Leading the Bearcats was the duo of Marianne Erb (Cincinnati,OH/Anderson) and Allison Mayborg (Monroe,OH/Ursuline Academy) who each shot a 1-over, 73 on the day. Each player rebounded from a opening round 79, to stand at plus-8 for the tournament.
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Phillpines/Miriam College) shot an 76 on the day, but still has UC's lowest combined scored of 151, plus-7 for the two days. The freshman has taken advantage of the course's four Par-5's, shooting minus-3 on those holes. Her 4.63 scoring average ties her for third among the field.
Senior Hillery Wilson (Hudson,OH/Hudson) improved on her score by two, shooting a 4-over, 77 on the second day to stand at 156 for the tournament. Freshman Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar School) rounded out the day, shooting an 88 on day two.
Coach Janet Carl on the day, "I felt we got good pairings today, along with good conditions. The team took advantage and moved up the leaderboard."
The three-day event concludes tomorrow (Feb. 26).
