CINCINNATI-- Lindsey Marshall (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) scored three goals for the University of Cincinnati (0-3) lacrosse team and the Bearcats owned their first lead in school history in the first half, but Robert Morris (1-0) stormed back in the second half to earn an 11-8 victory on Friday afternoon at Nippert Stadium.

Robert Morris burst out to a 3-0 lead in the first 13 minutes of the first half before UC got on the board with a goal by Lynsey Burton (Smithtown, N.Y./Ohio University). Back-to-back goals by Marshall tied the score, 3-3. The Colonials responded with a quick goal but sophomore Shannon Lynes (Ellicott City, Md./Ohio University) tallied back-to-back goals on free position attempts to give UC its first lead, 5-4, in program history. An additional goal by Marshall put Cincinnati up, 6-4 at the half.

The Colonials scored four unanswered goals to start the second half and took an 8-6 lead. UC responded with a goal by Burton and tied the game, 8-8, with a goal by freshman Karen Skelton (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington). Less than a minute later, Robert Morris's Kara Blakeley scored what proved to be the game-winning goal. The Colonials tacked on two additional scores for the 11-8 victory.

The Bearcats turned the ball over 19 times but Cincinnati outshot the Colonials, 26-24, and held a 23-19 advantage in ground balls.

UC returns to action on Friday, March 7 as the Bearcats travel to Annapolis, Md. to play St. Francis (NY) at 1 p.m. Cincinnati will take on Navy at noon on Saturday, March 8.
