RIO VERDE, AZ - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team improved on their first-round score by a shot, posting a 310 on day two of the Rio Verde Invitational. The Bearcats stand in 14th place out of 18 teams, with one more round left to be played.
Pacing the Bearcats was senior Hillery Wilson (Hudson, OH/Hudson) who shot a plus-three, 75 in the second round. After dropping a shot on her first hole, Wilson bounced back to shoot par on 15 of the remaining 17 holes. Her combined score of 155 places her in a tie for 36th position.
Cincinnati's round one leader, Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan, Phillipines/Miriam College) dropped four shots off of yesterday's pace shooting a plus-five, 77 in the second round. Despite the setback, Dela Paz still has UC's best combined score for the tournament, sitting at plus-six, 150.
A pair of Bearcats stand at 158 for the Invitational as Allison Mayborg (Monroe, OH/Ursuline Academy) shot a 78 and Marianne Erb () tallied an 80 for the day. Cincinnati was rounded out by Jenny Linville (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) and Katelyn Hiller (West Des Moines, IA/Valley) who shot an 81 and 88, respectively.
Cincinnati returns to the course on Sunday (Mar. 9) for the final round of the Rio Verde Invitational. Live Results can be found at golfstats.com.
