AVON, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team finished fifth in the 10-team Butler Spring Invitational held at the Prestwick Country Club in Avon, Ind. Freshman Joe Kastelic led the way for the Bearcats shooting a two-round score of 152=76-76, while the team finished with a combined score of 631.





After posting a team score of 318 in the first round, UC improved by five strokes for a 313 as a team in the final round thanks to junior Alberto Fernandez and Ryan Heinly, who improved their scores by six and five strokes, respectively.





Cincinnati finished the invitational 22 strokes behind first-place Evansville. Cleveland State and the University of Indianapolis tied for second (612) followed IUPUI (626).





The Bearcats men's team is back in action, March 27, at the Big Four Quadrangular at the Traditions Golf Club in Cincinnati. The one-day, 36-hole match features UC, Louisville, Kentucky and Xavier.
