CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati tennis team closed out 2007-08 regular-season play vs. crosstown rival Xavier University at the Queen City Racquet and Fitness Club, losing 5-2.





The Musketeers collected the first point of the match sweeping the double action, 8-5, 8-2, and 8-1.





In singles action, Jenn Keiner and Elizabeth Young led a Bearcats' comeback attempt by taking the No. 2 and No. 3 spots 7-5, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4, respectively. Alizee Paradis battled Xavier's Kara Courtney in the No. 1 flight taking her match to a three-set tiebreak. Paradis ended up losing the match 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6). Jennifer Rowen fought hard in the No. 5 slot taking the first set to a tiebreak as well before losing 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.





The match wrapped up the Bearcats (5-15, 1-8 BIG EAST) regular season. UC now sets site on the BIG EAST Championships in Tampa, Fla., on April 17-20.
