Comments from Head Coach Brian Kelly

On the performance of the Bearcats' defense:

"We started the day working inside the 20-yard line,in the Red Zone. When you're down there, it's a demeanor. I didn't like our defense's demeanor. After we were through, I talked to our leaders on the defense. Nobody likes to be on the 10-yard line. The defense needs to continue to find leadership. They know they need to pick up the intensity."

On the performance of the Bearcats' offense:
"I thought we were inconsistent today. That's where we are after two weeks of practice. The offense needs to continue to find consistency. We are making small steps of progress."

On the competition for the starting quarterback position:
"We were shuffling in all five of the quarterbacks today. We used Dustin (Grutza), Tony (Pike), Demetrius (Jones), Chazz (Anderson) and Zach (Collaros). I thought Chazz did a nice job today. He is competing for the starting quarterback position."

On the performance of running backs John Goebel and Jacob Ramsey:

"I thought both backs ran physical today. In this offense, we're going to move the ball throwing it. We struggled to run the ball at times last year. It's been an emphasis this spring and we've been able to do it more effectively."
