Bearcats Sixth After Day One of BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team, which is hosting the BIG EAST Golf Championship this week at the Traditions Golf Club is Hebron, Ky., sits in sixth place after firing an opening round 301 (+13).

UC sits in sixth 10 strokes behind first-place (291/+3). The Golden Eagles are following by Seton Hall (294/+6) in second place and Notre and , who are in a tie for third place (296/+8).

Freshman Joe Kastelic () led the Bearcats individually with a first round 74/+2 and is in 15th place. Freshman Ryan Cahill (, ) is tied with teammate junior Alberto Fernandez () for 21st after each scored rounds of 75/+3. Freshmen Kane Volsky () is two shots back of them in 39th (77/+5). Junior Blake Tucker () rounded out the roster for the Bearcats with a score of 82/+10.
