- The Cincinnati Bearcats football team concluded its third week of practice at Nippert Stadium under cloudy skies and 50 degree temperatures.
After warming up, going through fundamental drills, and working on goal line situations, the Bearcats went to work on a 40 play scrimmage.
Freshman quarterback CHazz Anderson, playing without the red jersey along with fellow quarterback Demetrius Jones, was a highlight of the scrimmage completing 8-of-9 passes for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns and running for another 46 yards on three carries. On the opening drive of the scrimmage, ran off the longest play of the practice going 39 yards over the right tackle. He capped the drive one play later hitting Armon Binns with a seven-yard scoring strike.
Dustin Grutza also led a scoring drive of his own in the game with an 11-yard touchdown scramble. Grutza finished the game 3-of-5 for 58 yards.
The Bearcats take off until Tuesday before beginning preparations for Bearcat Bowl II on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. Admission to the game is free and activities begin at 5:30 p.m. on Sheakley Lawn in from the in .
