CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team remained in third place at the BIG EAST Golf Championship being held at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio, posting a 310/+22 in today's second round of play.
After play began following a 90-minute delay for fog, senior Hillery Wilson (, /Hudson) and freshman Kate Moore (/Goulburn Valley Grammar School) led the Bearcats with scores of 74 and 75, respectively. 's 75 was one stroke better than her previous season-low, also set at Elks Run during the UC Spring Invitational. Yesterday's top scorer, Marianne Erb (, /) posted the third-best score with a second-round 80. Freshman Bambee Dela Paz (, /Miriam College) notched an 81 and senior Allison Mayborg (/Ursuline Academy) carded an 83 to round out the UC five's team score.
Erb, UC's top individual scorer, is tied for 10th at +10 through 36 holes. Wilson and Moore are tied for 12th at 155/+11.
The BIG EAST Women's Championship concludes tomorrow at Elks Run with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. The Bearcats are nine strokes back of Notre Dame who is in first place with a score of 597/+21.
