CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati's Josh Harrison (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week for his play on the baseball diamond this past week. The junior second baseman was a perfect 10-for-10 at the plate in the three-game set at Louisville.
On the week, Harrison was 13-for-21 (.619) at the plate, including eight runs scored and five runs batted in. The speedy infielder was successful on six out of seven stolen base attempts. He displayed his power by belting a home run and a double at Louisville to post an .810 slugging percentage.
Head coach Brian Cleary's squad finished the week with a 3-3 mark and stand at 25-17 on the season. The Bearcats currently stand third in the BIG EAST with a league mark of 12-6.
This week, Cincinnati plays a home-and-home series on Tuesday and Wednesday against cross-town rival Xavier. Tuesday's matchup is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Hayden Field, while Wednesday's contest is set to get underway at 6:30 p.m. at Marge Schott Stadium. UC returns to BIG EAST competition this Friday with the first of three league frays against Rutgers. Friday night's action is set to begin at 6:30.
