Women Come From Behind to Top XU

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team defeated Xavier University 2-1 on Saturday (Apr. 26) in a match which was part of the Blue Chip Showcase.

UC, despite controlling much of the first half, fell behind 1-0. The Bearcats came back in the second half as Logan Ballinger (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) intercepted a pass in the midfield, beat two Xavier defenders and drilled the ball in the side net for the tying goal.

Cincinnati scored the go ahead goal five minutes later when Kendall Loggins (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) received a cross from Kristin May (Hudson, Ohio/ Walsh Jesuit) and slipped the ball past the musketeer goalkeeper for the winner.

UC outshot Xavier 15-4, while attempting five corners to the XU's one.

Cincinnati continues its spring slate traveling to Ohio University on May 11, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick.
