WASHINGTON, DC - Shannon Lynes (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) tallied three goals and 10 different Bearcats scored to lead the University of Cincinnati lacrosse team to a 16-4 win against Howard on Sunday (April 6) afternoon at Greene Stadium.

The Bearcats (2-9) snapped a six-game losing streak - which included three losses to ranked opponents - and won for the first time in school history on the road.

UC took a 3-0 lead on a pair of Lynes goals and a score from Lindsey Marshall (Hilliard, OH/Hilliard Davidson), who scored twice on the afternoon and leads the Bearcats with 19 goals.

Sakita Holley scored at the 15:42 mark for the Bison (1-9) to cut it to 3-1.

UC scored the next seven goals, capped by Paige Stratton's (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) first career marker just into the second half, to take a 10-1 advantage.

Marissa Hiatt (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) and Lauren Kelly (Timonium, MD/Roland Park) each posted their first career goals in the second half as UC built its lead and ultimately its largest margin of victory of the season.

Jen Mott (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) and Haley Marvine (Alpharetta, GA/Chattahoochee) split goalie duties, each allowing just two goals for the lowest opponent goal-scoring output of the season. Mott made five saves and earned her second win of the season, while Marvine made one stop in 20 minutes of second-half action.

UC attempted a season-high 40 shots and held the Bison to 17, a season low for an opponent.

The Bearcats are back at home next weekend hosting Davidson and UC Davis on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12, respectively.
