UC Golfer Hillery Wilson Shoots Opening Round 79 at Duramed Championship

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior golfer Hillery Wilson (Hudson, OH/HS) shot an opening-round 79 (+8) today at The Duramed Championship held at the Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio.

Wilson, an amateur, qualified for the event last week by shooting a 75 (+3) in the tournament qualifier. This is the second straight year a UC golfer claimed the amateur spot for the Duramed Championship. Last year it was Allison Mayborg (Monroe, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) who earned the distinction.

The field of The Duramed Championship will be cut to the 70-lowest scores and ties after the completion of two rounds.

Saturday's second round will begin at 8 a.m., off the first and tenth tees.
