UC Swimmer Josh Schneider Finishes 16th at Olympic Trials

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati swimmer Josh Schneider (Cincinnati, OH/Taylor), who earlier in the day qualified for a spot in the semifinals of the 50-meter freestyle, finished 16th after the two semifinal heats with a time of 22.65. He missed qualifying for the finals by 0.32 seconds.

Schneider, a 2007-08 NCAA all-American in the 50 freestyle, set UC marks in the 50 and 100 freestyles this season. The sophomore won the BIG EAST title in the 50 free and was ranked No. 17 in the U.S. going into the trials.

The USA Swimming and Diving Olympic Trials runs from June 29-July 6 at the Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. The 50-meter freestyle finals taking place on Saturday, July 5.
