CINCINNATI - Amanda Martin, a former assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Oklahoma, joins first-year head coach Michelle Salmon's University of Cincinnati women's soccer staff in the same capacity for the 2008 season.

Martin comes to Cincinnati after serving one season as an assistant at Oklahoma, where she was responsible for goalkeeper training. OU goalkeeper Jenny Nichols was twice named BIG XII Goalkeeper of the Week under Martin's watch.
Prior to her stint at Oklahoma, Martin spent one season at Charlotte, where she worked with the 49ers' goalkeepers. Under her tutelage, UNCC keepers recorded the school's lowest goals-against average (GAA) in four years. Additionally, Martin's goalies combined to record five shutouts which tied the most by a 49ers club in the last five years. Freshman Lauren Brown was named to the Atlantic-10 all-Rookie Team after finishing the year with a perfect 6-0 record and one shutout for the A-10 champs.
Martin graduated in May 2006 from Saint Louis University with a degree in communications where she also put together an impressive playing career for the Billikens.
The Franklin, Tenn., native finished her soccer career at Saint Louis as the career leader for goals-against average (0.65). She also ranked second all-time at Saint Louis with 19 shutouts and 34 wins in over 4,100 minutes of action in 51 games played during her three-year career. Prior to transferring to Saint Louis, Martin began her collegiate career at the University of Arizona where she started nine games and recorded two shutouts as a freshman.
As a senior goalkeeper at Saint Louis, Martin played a vital role in helping lead the Billikens to their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2005. The postseason appearance came after the program captured the A-10 regular season and tournament titles. During her final season, Martin was 9-2 and recorded a 0.91 goals-against average in 11 starts.
Martin earned first-team all-Conference USA honors as a junior during the 2004 season. During that campaign, she set the Saint Louis school record with a 0.53 GAA, which was also the seventh-lowest mark in the nation that season. Martin also led C-USA with a 0.20 GAA in conference play in 2004.
In addition to playing soccer on the collegiate level, Martin was a member of the W-League's Charlotte Lady Eagles team from 2003-2005.
At Cincinnati, she will be responsible for goalkeeper training as well as aiding UC's recruiting efforts, academic oversight, alumni and booster relations.
