CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team has been named an Academic Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

The IWLCA also announced its 2008 Academic Honor Roll recipients, naming UC junior Lindsey Marshall (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) as one of 159 Division I student-athletes to earn the distinction.

Teams that have a collective grade-point average of 3.0 or greater earn the distinction of Academic Squad. Cincinnati, one of 50 squads nationally to earn the honor, posted a 3.38 team GPA during the 2007-08 school year.

Marshall, UC's lone junior and a captain in 2008, was the Bearcats' leading goal-scorer in 2008, posting 30 tallies. She scored the game-winner against Saint Mary's on March 7, giving UC its first win in school history. She holds a 3.85 GPA in finance.
