CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics announced Thursday that its football Family Plan has sold out for the second-straight season.
The Bearcats have sold a record number of more than 11,000 season tickets heading into the 2008 campaign, surpassing the 2007 number of 8,186 season tickets.
"To sell out this section for a second straight year is impressive, but even more so when you consider that we doubled the size of the Family Area for 2008," Senior Associate Director of Athletics Mike Waddell said. "UC Athletics is committed to providing substantial value to all of our season ticket patrons, and entry level packages like the Family Plan and the Bearcat Lair are both affordable, and excellent viewing areas to take in Cincinnati's college football team. With a record number of season tickets sold for 2008 were are excited for the coming season and look forward to the first game against Eastern Kentucky on the 28th."
The Bearcats, who finished last season with a program-record 10 wins and ranked No. 17 in the final Associated Press Poll, open the year on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Nippert Stadium vs. Eastern Kentucky University. The six-game home schedule also includes the 113th Battle for the Victory Bell vs. Miami (OH) on Sept. 20 and BIG EAST Conference match-ups vs. Rutgers (Oct. 11), USF (Oct. 30), Pittsburgh (Nov. 23), and Syracuse (Nov. 29).
