BEIJING - Former Bearcat David Payne moved into the finals of the 110-meter hurdles at the 2008 Olympic Games on Wednesday evening at National Stadium, finishing in second place in the opening heat with a season-best time of 13.21 seconds.

Payne, a bronze medalist at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, Japan, posted the second-fastest time in the semifinal round behind Dayron Robles of Cuba.
