Cincinnati is Bearcats Proud and the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics has developed a way for businesses and campus offices to join in on the fun and show your pride for the University.
In a joint effort with universities across the country and the Collegiate Licensing Company, UC is participating in College Colors Day on August 29, 2008. College Colors Day was developed to celebrate the start of the fall sports season as well as the start of students coming back to campus. In recognition of these events and as a sign of their support, both Todd Portune, Hamilton County Commissioner and Mark Mallory, Mayor of the City of Cincinnati have issued proclamations declaring August 29, 2008 College Colors Day in Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati.
While College Colors Day is just one day, Bearcats Fridays is scheduled to run throughout the year. Sponsored by the UC Department of Athletics, UC Office of Trademarks, and the UC Alumni Association, Bearcats fans can participate in the fun and show support by signing up and wearing UC gear. In addition to competing against other participating groups to show your colors with pride, registering will make you eligible to win prizes for your group and maybe even get a visit from the Bearcat himself.
The winner of the second week's contest of Bearcats Fridays is ADW Architects located in Charlotte, NC. ADW Architects, P.A. is an established firm specializing in architecture, planning, and interior design. Since 1977, ADW has assisted their clients in transforming their goals and aspirations into compositions of function and aesthetic form.
"I have always been a Bearcats fan, even before I graduated from DAAP in 1975. When I saw the story about Bearcats Fridays, I wanted the team to know that they have fans throughout the country. We may be in SEC and ACC country, but we still love our Bearcats!", says Steve Wallace of ADW Associates.
