CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati football players will be available for postgame autograph sessions on Sheakley Lawn after home contests during the 2008 season, the Department of Athletics announced Thursday.
UC players will congregate on the lawn after postgame activities approximately 30 minutes after the game. Sheakley Lawn is directly adjacent to Nippert Stadium and the Richard E. Lindner Center.
Recently, the BIG EAST announced legislation requiring its member institutions to keep the playing field clear following a game.
"We realize the league's decision to keep fans off the field may not be a popular one, but it's one we have to abide by and we will," head coach Brian Kelly said. "Our fan support is paramount to our success so I'm pleased that we're able to offer our fans another way to meet and interact with our players and staff."
The Bearcats open the 2008 season on Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky in Nippert Stadium. For tickets and information, call 1-877-CATS-TIX or log on to www.CATSTIX.com.
