TEAM

  • Cincinnati Captains: #5 Connor Barwin and #16 Dominick Goodman.
  • UC snapped a 13-year, 145-game streak without a kickoff return for a touchdown, which was tied for the third-longest active streak in the NCAA FBS.
  • Oklahoma's 52 points are the most scored against Cincinnati since Louisville beat UC, 70-7 (11/27/04).

INDIVIDUAL

  • WR #1 Mardy Gilyard had a 57-yard catch in the first quarter, UC's longest play from scrimmage this season.
  • Gilyard set a school-record and established a career high with 365 all-purpose yards (119 receiving, 246 return yards).
  • Gilyard ran a kickoff back 97 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, the first kickoff returned for a touchdown at UC in 13 years (145 games).
  • The 97-yard return is his career best, the fourth-longest in school history, and the fourth-longest nationally in 2008
  • Gilyard's 246 kickoff return yards broke the previous school record of Roger Stephens (218 vs. Dayton), set in 1947.
  • Gilyard broke Najeh Davenport's (Miami, Fla.) previous BIG EAST single-game return-yardage mark of 208 yards (11/28/98)
  • His 246 kickoff return yards is also the best single-game total in the country in 2008.
  • It was the 19th kickoff return for a touchdown in school history and the 52nd in BIG EAST history.
  • DB #8 Brandon Underwood recorded his first-career interception in the first quarter.
  • Underwood's interception marked the 16th-straight game in which UC has forced a turnover.
  • TE #88 Adrian Robinson recorded his first-career catch in the second quarter.
  • QB #4 Dustin Grutza scored a rushing touchdown for the second-straight game.
  • Grutza left the game with 12:43 left in the fourth quarter with a fractured right fibula.
  • He was 19-of-29 for 218 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also added 11 rushing yards and a score.
  • DB #25 Brad Jones picked off his second career pass and first of the year with 4:43 left in the first half.
  • Senior WR #16 Dominick Goodman caught a 14-yard touchdown from Grutza with 2:16 left in the first half to cut the Oklahoma lead to 21-13.
  • He is now four touchdown receptions short breaking the Cincinnati career record held by Jim O'Brien (21).
  • Yingling missed the ensuing PAT. The touchdown leaves Goodman four short of the school record for touchdown receptions (21 by Jim O'Brien).
