PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Following a first-place finish in the Queen City Invitational last weekend, sophomore Lilian Jelimo was named the BIG EAST Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Jelimo led the Bearcats to their third straight Queen City Invitational title last weekend with a first-place time of 17:59.26. The win was the second of her career. In her first race of the season on Aug. 30, Jelimo finished in second-place at the Meijer Flyer 5K with a time of 18:31.00.
Cincinnati competes this weekend in State College, Pa. at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational hosted by Penn State University. The men's team competes at 9 a.m., while the women are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
