Bearcats Sixth After First Round at Sea Trail Intercollegiate

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team sits in sixth place after the first round of competition at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate on Friday (Sept. 19).

Sophomores Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Phillipines/Miriam College) and Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar School) fired opening-round 76s to pace the Bearcats. The pair sit in a tie for ninth in the individual competition.

Senior Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) is in a tie for 23rd after her opening-round 79.

The Bearcats (312) finished nine shots behind the first-round leader, Elon (303). Bethune-Cookman (308) and Murray State (308) tied for second, while East Tennessee (309) and Longwood (309) tied for fourth.

The second round is set for Saturday morning at the Sea Trail Resort.
