SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team put together a school-record round of 294 to finish fourth at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate on Sunday (Sept. 21) at the Sea Trail Resort.
Sophomore Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Phillipines/Miriam College) fired a final-round 71 to place second in the individual competition with a 76-75-71=222. Freshman Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) rebounded from a first-round 82 to finish 82-75-71=228, good for 11th. Senior Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) fired an even-par 72 on the final day to finish 17th (79-81-72=232).
The Bearcats' 294 was the top single-round score of the event, two shots better than Longwood's third-round 296.
East Tennessee was the team champion (309-298-298=905), followed by Longwood (309-307-296=912), and Elon (303-308-303=914). The Bearcats were fourth with a 312-310-294=916.
UC will head to Huntington, W.Va. for a two-day event against Marshall on Oct. 6-7.
