LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team finished 12th at the Cardinal Intercollegiate on Tuesday (Sept. 30) at the Cardinal Club. Sophomore Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) shot a four-under 212 (70-68-74) to place 17th in the individual competition.
Host Louisville (281-280-273=834) won the team title by nine shots over Eastern Kentucky (278-286-279=843), who featured the individual medalist, Trey Bowling (65-70-65=200).
Alberto Fernandez (Gijorn, Spain/La Corolla) was UC's second finisher, placing tied for 48th after shooting a seven-over 223 (76-74-73).
Nick Proud (Middletown, Ohio/Lakota East) and Ryan Cahill (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) each shot 234 to finish in a tie for 69th.
The Bearcats are next in action on Oct. 13-14 at the Xavier Invitational at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
