ALEXANDRIA, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati's men's and women's cross country teams took first-place finishes in the annual Queen City Invitational on Saturday. The men's team won its eighth straight Queen City Invitational, while the women's team captured its third straight Queen City title.

The women's team won the meet with 27 points as Lilian Jelimo and Tamara Masters finished in first and second place, respectively, with times of 17:59.26 and 18:29.98. Jill Glassmeyer, Megan Knapp and Alison Leckrone rounded out the scoring with sixth-, seventh- and 11th-place finishes. Cincinnati finished 11 points ahead of Dayton.

Randy King led the men's team with a second-place overall finish. King finished two seconds behind Xavier's Tommy Kauffman for first place with a time of 15:39.86. After Northern Kentucky's Drew Harris and Xavier's Luke Beuerlein finished in third and fourth place, respectively, the Bearcats had five consecutive runners cross the line, giving them their eighth straight Queen City Invitational title. Soloman Kessio, Bill Keckeis, Tommy Morgan, Kyle Dragan, and Kyle Lang earned fifth through ninth-place finishes in that order.

The men's team finished with 28 points, finishing 21 points behind second-place Xavier. The men's team finished in first place out of nine teams, while the women's team finished in first place out of 12 teams.

Both teams compete Sept. 13 at the Harry Groves Spike Shoe Invitational in State College, Pa.
