CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer goalkeeper, Andrea Kaminski (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the league on Monday (Oct. 13).
Kaminski earns BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors following a pair of shutouts in which she totaled 12 saves. The junior made six saves as part of a 2-0 win at Seton Hall on Oct. 10 and made six stops in a 0-0 tie at then-No. 21/14 Rutgers on Oct. 12. She helped hold the Scarlet Knights scoreless for just the fourth time this season. This is her third BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award, as she also earned the honor on Oct. 22, 2007 and Aug. 28, 2006.
Kaminski's back-to-back shutouts on the road marked the first time since the 2006 season that the Bearcats had back-to-back shutouts and gave her 10 career shutouts, good enough to tie for ninth in the UC record book for career shutouts.
Cincinnati plays next at USF on Friday, Oct. 17, in BIG EAST action that begins at 7:30 p.m.
