LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Freshman Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) fired a final-round 73 to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf team to a 13th-place finish at Price's Give 'Em Five Intercollegiate at the New Mexico State Golf Course on Wednesday (Oct. 15).
Cumtell's 75-80-73=228 was good for 22nd place in the individual competition. Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philipines/Miriam College) was the second Bearcats finisher, posting a three-round total of 79-76-78=233 which put her in 39th place.
UC-Irvine won the team competition with a final-round 286, the low round of the tournament. UC-Irvine finished with a three round total of 293-302-286=881, 18 shots ahead of second-place Baylor which posted a 297-304-298=899.
The Bearcats (311-313-309=933) finished one shot behind Kansas State (307-314-311=932) and tied with North Texas (304-316-313=933).
Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Grammar School) finished 46th, shooting 76-81-78=235.
The Bearcats will head to Gulf Shores, Ala., for the Fall Beach Blast on Nov. 3-4.
