Kessio Named BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a second-place individual showing at the Ohio Invitational last weekend, junior Soloman Kessio (Mosoriot, Kenya/Kosirai) earned BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors, the conference office announced today. It is the first time in his career that Kessio has earned BIG EAST Athlete of the Week.

Kessio finished the 8K race in a time of 25:16.45, posting his best 8K race time of the season. Kessio led the Bearcats to their third straight win after the team won the Queen City Invitational on Sept. 13 and the Mel Brodt Invitational on Sept. 13.

Cincinnati's men's and women's cross country teams will compete on Friday, Oct. 10 at the All-Ohio Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.
