HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) closed out a two-round 154 with a round of 81 on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 7), leading the University of Cincinnati women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Lady Herd Fall Classic.
Cumtell posted the low round of the tournament with a first-round 73. Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philipines/Miriam College) placed eighth after rounds of 77-79=156.
Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) and Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Grammar School) finished in a tie for 10th with totals of 157. Erb fired rounds of 77-80, while Moore shot the inverse, posting a first-round 80 and following that with a 77.
Towson was the team champion, posting rounds of 316-304=620. The Bearcats and Radford tied for second, four shots behind.
Radford's Hannah Coles was the individual medalist with a 75-73=148. Morgan Reich of Towson shot a 76-73 for a 149 total, one shot behind.
UC will travel to Las Cruces, N.M., for the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate, hosted by New Mexico State on Oct. 13-14.
