The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team heads back on the road for its final BIG EAST road swing of the season. The trip will begin on Friday (Oct. 10) as they take on Seton Hall (5-5-2, 1-3-1) and continue with Rutgers (9-3-0, 4-1-0) on Sunday (Oct. 12). The trip will be crucial for UC as both the Pirates and Scarlet Knights are battling the Bearcats for position in the National Division of the BIG EAST conference.

Senior Kristin May (Hudson, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) was named to the Oct. 6 BIG EAST Honor Roll with her performance for this past week. Against Providence, May scored UC's lone goal in the 1-1 (2OT) draw and followed it up against Connecticut by assisting on the game-winning goal. In the last four matches Cincinnati has played, May has five points (2G, 1A).

Senior goalkeeper/forward Brittney Hansen (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) normally counted on to stop opponents shots, tallied her first career goal against Connecticut. Hansen, who has seen time at forward due to an injury, received a ball inside the box from May and blasted home the eventual game-winning goal against the Huskies.

Junior midfielder Melissa Bigg (Limehouse, Ont./Acton) is quietly making her way up the points total for the Bearcats. Bigg currently stands tied for second on the team in points with seven (3G, 1A). She capitalized on a penalty kick drawn against Lindsey Noteboom (Hurst, Texas/Birdville) to give UC a 1-0 lead against UConn.

Freshman Julie Morrissey (Abington, Mass./Tabor Academy) leads Cincinnati in points this season with eight (3G, 2A). Morrissey tallied the game-winning goals against Xavier and in the season opener against Bowling Green.

Cincinnati has no trouble getting shots up as the Bearcats hold a 177-120 shot advantage against their opponents. The Bearcats have outshot the opposition in all but three matches this season and our four shy of their entire shot output from last season.
