CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball program has signed Bryonna Snow (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Springs) to a National Letter of Intent, second-year head coach J. Kelley Hall announced on Thursday (Nov. 13).
Snow, a 6-1 forward, is a three-year letterwinner at Blue Springs High School for head coach Tony Armstrong. A three-time all-conference and two-time all-city selection, she helped the Wildcats to three conference championships and a district title during her three-year varsity career. Her Blue Springs teams compiled a 45-8 record during her sophomore and junior seasons, including a 25-3 mark in 2007-08. On the AAU circuit, Snow played for the Kansas City Select, one of the top AAU programs in the nation.
"Bryonna brings us a versatile, athletic forward with size," said Hall. "She is a great rebounder, will run the floor hard in transition, and pays attention to detail."
A three-sport athlete, Snow also lettered in track and field and volleyball as a prep. She comes from a family of athletes, as her father, Percy Snow, was a first-round draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1990. Her mother, Tyra, ran track at Michigan State, and her uncle, Eric Snow, was a standout guard at Michigan State and played 13 seasons in the NBA.
Wednesday, Nov. 12 marked the first day Division I schools could officially sign prospects for the upcoming 2009-10 season. The spring signing period begins on April 15, 2009. The Bearcats signed 6-0 guard/forward Daress McClung (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) on Wednesday.
The Bearcats open the 2008-09 regular season on Friday, Nov. 14, in Fifth Third Arena when they welcome Detroit at 7 p.m.
