WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Great Lakes Regional Championships on Sautrday at the Varsity Cross Country Course in West Lafayette, Ind., and the women's team finished in 12th place, while the men's team finished in 13th place. Sophomore Lilian Jelimo (Kapsebet, Kenya/Kapsabet Girls) crossed the line in 18th place to lead the women's team, while senior Randy King (North Bend, Ohio/St. Xavier) led the men's team with a 36th-place showing.

Jelimo finished in a time of 21:48.7, which was the fifth-fastest time among all sophomores competing. Junior Tamara Masters (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) was the next Bearcat to cross the line, finishing in 41st place with a time of 22:20.6. Senior Megan Knapp (Shelby, Ohio/Shelby) and sophomore Jill Glassmeyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) finished in 62nd- and 64th-place respectively, while sophomore Michele McKenney (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) rounded out the scoring finishing in 147th place.

The women's team finished in 12th place with a total score of 332.

Randy King recorded a team-best time of 32:19.1 in the men's 10k race, finishing in 36th place. Senior Rick King (North Bend, Ohio/St. Xavier) followed with a 55th-place time of 32:38.4, and junior Tommy Morgan (Maineville, Ohio/Kings) and freshman Eric Finan (New Richmond, Ohio/New Richmond) finished in 71st and 73rd, respectively. Sophomore Kyle Lang (Harrison, Ohio/LaSalle) rounded out the scoring finishing in 100th place.

The men's team finished in 13th place with a total of 334 points.
