CINICNNATI - With a three-set win over Rutgers and a St. John's loss to DePaul, the University of Cincinnati volleyball team earned a share of the BIG EAST Conference regular-season championship. It is the second regular-season championship that the University of Cincinnati has won, regardless of sport, since joining the BIG EAST in 2005, and the first for the volleyball program.

The Bearcats own a 25-5 record and finished their conference season with a 12-2 mark. Cincinnati has won 15 consecutive matches, which is tied for the second-longest winning streak in program history.

The 25 wins for UC is the most wins in a season since the 2003 squad posted a 27-6 record.

The Bearcats head to Pittsburgh, Pa., as the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, which will be held at Fitzgerald Field House Nov. 21-23. The Bearcats quarterfinal opponent has not been finalized.
