BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team wrapped up a three-day meet at the Hoosierland Invitational, Sunday at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

Jeremy Peter (Obernai, France/Lycee Freppel) continued his strong showing, taking second in the 200 breaststroke, touching in at 2:00.38. He also placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a 1:50.36 clocking.

Josh Schneider (Cincinnati, Ohio/Taylor) grabbed a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.52. Jakub Carda (Brno, Czech Repulic/Sportovni Gymnasium) was sixth in the 200 breaststroke, clocking 2:07.37. Patryk Wakula (Zabre, Poland/Somsit) won the D final of the 200 butterlfy with a time of 1:54.50.

Schneider, Peter, Nathan Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder), and Matt Hays placed fifth in the 400-freestyle relay, covering the course in 3:05.64.

Liz Hansson (Lund, Sweden/St. Petri) opened the day up with a third-place showing in the 200 backstroke consolation final in 2:05.58.

Elinore de Jong (Bussum, Netherlands/Goois Lyceum) was eighth in the women's 100 freestyle with a 53.04 clocking.

Emma Misanik (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) was second in the consolation finals for the 200 breaststroke, earning a time of 2:23.09.

De Jong, Hansson, Amy Billow (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy), and Lange Gilby (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) teamed up to swim the 400-freestyle relay in 3:33.24, finishing sixth.

The Bearcats close out 2008 with a trip to the Miami Invitational. UC will make the short trip north to Oxford, Ohio to participate in the RedHawks' invitational meet from Dec. 4-6 at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
