CINCINNATI -

The University of Cincinnati is rolling out new radio and TV ads in conjunction with the No. 12 Bearcats' appearance in the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl against No. 21/19 Virginia Tech on Jan. 1 at Dolphin Stadium.

The television and radio advertisements focus on UC's success in academics, research, health care, and athletics, while showcasing UC's award-winning campus. They are underscored by the trademark "down the drive" chant that is a highlight of Bearcat games.

The TV spot, themed 'Proudly Cincinnati' to connect with the university's recently launched $1 billion fundraising campaign, will air during the game on FOX, going out to an estimated 11-million viewers. The spot will also air inside Dolphin Stadium on gameday. The radio spot will be heard on ESPN Radio's national and satellite broadcasts of the game.

The spots will also air in the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland markets from Dec. 23-Jan. 5. UC has thousands of alumni in those markets and draws the majority of its students from Ohio cities.

The 30-second radio spot features voice talent Pete Stacker. Stacker is known worldwide for his work on Bud Light's 'Real American Heroes' series. The TV ad includes pictures taken by Cincinnati photographer Robert Flischel that are featured in his book about the UC campus.

The TV and radio spots, and a track of just the UC chant (perfect for a cell phone's ringtone), are available at www.uc.edu/video/pride as well as on iTunes U and YouTube. The University marketing staff led the project, which was produced by UC agency Lipman Hearne in collaboration with independent video producer David Ashbrock. Communications professionals from throughout the university contributed to the project.
