MIAMI - The University of Cincinnati football team closed out its third day in Miami Sunday, as the team moved closer to the kickoff of the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl, against No. 21/19 Virginia Tech on Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. in Dolphin Stadium.
In the morning, defensive coordinator Joe Tresey and six defensive starters, Connor Barwin, Torry Cornett, Kevin Huber, Mike Mickens, Corey Smith, and DeAngelo Smith, took part in a press conference at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Fort Lauderdale.
After the group returned to the hotel, the team departed for a two-hour practice session under sunny skies at Barry University. The team's second bowl working at Barry was a crisp, hard-working affair that featured hitting on both sides of the ball.
Following the close of practice, the team returned to its hotel and later attended a team dinner at Fogo de Chao in Miami Beach. There, the Bearcats were able to sample unlimited servings of 15 different delectable cuts of fire-roasted meats, a sumptuous buffet of gourmet salads and fresh-cut vegetables, and a variety of Brazilian side dishes.
Monday morning will feature the offensive press conference and UC will hit the fields at Barry once again for an afternoon workout. Select groups of student-athletes will participate in an FCA breakfast and a trip to Veterans Hospital.
