LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team dropped a pair of dual meets to BIG EAST Conference rival Louisville, Friday at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. The men's team fell by a 167-120 score while the women's squad dropped a 187-92 decision to the host Cardinals.

Jakub Carda (Brno, Czech Repulic/Sportovni Gymnasium) clocked a pool-record time of 4:01.21 to win the 400 IM. He also placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.09).

Jeremy Peter (Obernai, France/Lycee Freppel) took top honors in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:06.73 clocking. He also placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:08.19 and second in the 100 breaststroke at 57.54.

Josh Schneider (Cincinnati, Ohio/Taylor) won the 100 butterfly in 50.78, was second in the 100 freestyle (45.60), and clocked 20.30 in the 50 freestyle to grab second place.

Nathan Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) grabbed first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:35.43.

Elinore de Jong (Bussum, Netherlands/Goois Lyceum) and Amy Billow (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy) finished 1-2 in the women's 100 butterfly with times of 1:00.64, and 1:00.75, respectively.

Renee DeSalle (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) clocked 4:52.31 to earn the top spot in the 400-yard IM.

The Bearcats return to the pool on Jan. 16, taking on nearby rival Miami (OH) in a dual meet. The meet, in the Keating Aquatic Center, is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
