CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s tennis team earned its second win of the season, knocking off the University of Akron, 5-2, at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Bearcats opened up by capturing the double point, winning two out of three. The teams of senior Elizabeth Young/Jennifer Rowen and freshmen Jessica Wise/Safiyya Ismail earned the wins.
In singles play, it was the No. 3-6 players that brought home the victory, winning all four matches in commanding straight set victories.
The win improves UC’s season record to 2-2 and prepares the Bearcats for the start of league play next Friday, Feb. 6 at home vs. Syracuse at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
