CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team lost to the University of Idaho, 4-3, on Thursday at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.

After losing the double's point 3-0, the Bearcats battled back in singles play as Valeriya Dandik, Safiyya Ismail, and Elizabeth Young captured the No. 3, 5 and 6 spots, respectively, to even play.

After senior Jennifer Rowen lost a squeaker 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7) in three-sets at the No. 2 spot, the match came down to the No. 1 singles. Freshman Ksenia Slynko lost a hard-fought contest 7-5, 6-4.

UC (8-6, 1-1 BIG EAST) looks to rebound on Saturday as it travels to the University of Dayton for a Noon start. The match begins a six-match road swing for the Bearcats that includes four straight BIG EAST Conference matches starting with St. John's on March 24.

Cincinnati's next home match is on Friday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center on UC's campus.
