DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team picked up its second win in three matches, sweeping area rival Dayton, 7-0, at the Dayton Center Courts.
The Bearcats got an early 1-0 lead winning all but nine combined points in the three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of Ksenia Slynko and Valeriya Dandik lost only two points in the No. 1 spot, while freshmen Safiyya Ismail and Jessica Wise lost only one point in the No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, UC was just as impressive winning all six matches in straight sets and not losing more than four points in any one match.
The win improves the Bearcats season record to 9-6 overall. After taking the next week off for finals, UC hits the court again on March 24 at St. John's for the second contest of a six-match road trip. The match against the Red Storm also begins a four-game run through the BIG EAST Conference.
Cincinnati's next home match is on Friday, April 10 at 1 p.m. at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center on UC's campus.
