SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team battled to the end and knocked off Seton Hall, 4-3, in the second match of its four-game BIG EAST road trip. The win is the Bearcats second in a row in BIG EAST play.
UC got out to a 1-0 lead in the match as they swept the Pirates in doubles play 8-5, 8-6, and 8-0. The freshmen team of Jessica Wise and Safiyya Ismail blanked their opponents in the No. 3 flight.
In singles play, freshman Jessica Wise captured one of the three victories in the No. 5 spot, while seniors Jennifer Rowen and Elizabeth Young helped wrap up the tight contest with wins in the No. 2 and No. 6 spots, respectively.
The Bearcats are now 11-6 on the season, including a record of 3-1 in BIG EAST play. The Bearcats head up the East Coast on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. match at Providence College.
