RICHMOND, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team handed Eastern Kentucky its first home of loss of the season Tuesday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center, edging the Colonels, 4-3.
After dropping the doubles point, 3-0, and losing two of the first four singles matches, the Bearcats trailed in the match, 3-2. Freshman Safiyya Ismail and senior Elizabeth Young rallied Cincinnati in the final two matches of the night, winning both in straight sets to seal the team victory.
The win improves the Bearcats' overall record to 8-5, while dropping Eastern Kentucky to 10-3 on the season. UC off until next Thursday, March 12 at 1 p.m. when they face Idaho at home in the Western Tennis and Fitness Center.
