RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) fired an opening-round 76 to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf team to a tie for fifth after the first round of the Duramed Collegiate Invitational at the Rio Verde Country Club.

Cumtell's 76 puts her in a tie for 17th place in the individual scoring race.

Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) and Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Grammar) each shot 78, and Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) was one shot back with a first-round 79.

Kansas leads the team race with a 10-over 294 through 18 holes. Toledo is second, 10 shots back at 304.

KU's Kalynd Carson and Toledo's Michelle Hui each shot one-over 72s to lead the individual tournament.

A shotgun start at 8 a.m. will get the second round underway on Saturday morning.
