Kastelic Leads UC at Ron Smith Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. - Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) shot a two-over 74 in the first round at the Ron Smith Invitational at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club on Friday, March 6.

Kastelic is tied for 61st after 18 holes and the Bearcats are 23rd as a team.

Alberto Fernandez (Gijorn, Spain/La Corolla) fired a 77, five over par, to sit in a tie for 94th.

Missouri State is seven under par as a team to lead the team competition, with Louisville and Marquette two shots back at five under par.

Riley Wheeldon of Louisville leads the individual competition with a six-under 66 through 18 holes. Four players sit a shot back at five under par.

The second round will get underway at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday morning.
