CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati will take part in Opening Day ceremonies as it assists "Impact a Hero," a local Cincinnati organization, recognize severely wounded soldiers who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The day-long event kicks off with breakfast at the Westin hotel with the heroes and event sponsors, including UC head coaches and University administration. The heroes and sponsors then take part in the annual Findlay Market Parade, riding in military vehicles. Following the parade, the heroes will be honored in front of a sellout Opening Day crowd at Great American Park as the Cincinnati Reds take on the New York Mets at 1:10 p.m.

Impact Player Partners is a non-partisan organization created to provide a simple mechanism for individuals and corporations to help provide emotional and financial support for severely wounded/disabled veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and their families.
