MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team posted a ninth-place finish at the Canes and Cardinal Classic on Tuesday (April 7) afternoon at the Don Shula Golf Course. UC's total of 303-317-321=941 was one shot ahead of 10th-place Maryland (312-315-315=942).

Anna Cumtell (Halmstad, Sweden) was UC's top finisher, placing in a 16th-place tie with rounds of 73-78-78=229.

Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) posted a strong 234 total with rounds of 77-74-83, finishing in a tie for 28th.

Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) and Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar) finished tied for 50th with 242 totals. Dela Paz (74-86-82) and Moore (79-83-80) wrapped up the UC scoring.

San Jose State (293-298-296=887) won the team title by 23 strokes over second-place Washington State (298-305-307=910).

San Jose State's Erica Moston won medalist honors, firing a 71-73-70=214, two-under par. She was the only player to finish the tournament below par.

UC will head to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Ladies Midwest Shootout hosted by Purdue on Saturday, April 11.
