WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Kate Moore (Shepparton, Australia/Goulburn Valley Grammar) finished 16th to lead the University of Cincinnati women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Ladies Midwest Shootout at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on Saturday (April 11).
Moore shot a two-round total of 79-81=160 and finished tied with three other golfers for 16th place.
Marianne Erb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) was 25th after rounds of 85-80=165, while teammate Kristin Price (Dandridge, Tenn./Jefferson County) was two shots back in 26th place (85-82=167).
UC's two-round total of 335-325=660 was four shots better than Western Michigan (337-327=664). Indianapolis was fifth with rounds of 323-321=644.
Kent State (302-308=610) won the individual title by five strokes over Vanderbilt (307-308=615). Purdue's Maude Aimee Leblanc was the individual medalist honors with rounds of 76-71=147.
The Bearcats will take on the best of the BIG EAST at the 2009 BIG EAST Championship on April 18-21 at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
