STARKVILLE, Miss. - University of Cincinnati's Lance Durham was named a 2009 Pro-Line Athletic/NCBWA Third-Team All-American, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Wednesday.

Durham finished the season ranked second in the BIG EAST with a .427 average, which broke UC's single-season batting average record of .413 by Mark Gabbard in 1993. Durham also led the conference and the team with 99 hits, breaking Kevin Youkilis' UC's single-season hits record of 96 set during the 1999 campaign.

The Cincinnati native tied for second on the Bearcats squad with nine home runs and drove in 53 runs en route to claiming second-team all-BIG EAST Conference honors.

West Virginia's Jedd Gyorko joined Durham on the third team, while Louisville's Phil Wunderlich earned second-team distinction.
